KDP moves forces and armored vehicles to guerrilla held region

Iraqi Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) has deployed armed forces and vehicles close to the guerilla-held Metina area in Duhok province, it was reported on Tuesday.

Peshmerga fighters belonging to the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) mobilized to the so-called Medya defense zones in the area close to the Turkish border.

A convoy of armored vehicles was accompanied by ambulances, raising fears of an imminent operation against the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK).

Earlier this week the Morning Star reported on leaked information of plans by the KDP to join forces with Turkish invaders to attack the Kurdish resistance movement.

According to sources, an operation is set to take place on April 15 and will be preceded by a string of “false flag” incidents to justify military intervention in the eyes of the public.

The KDP has previously launched attacks on guerilla camps belonging to the PKK and is accused of collaborating with Turkey, including sending it co-ordinates ahead of missile attacks.

In a recent meeting in the Kurdish regional parliament in Erbil, a KDP representative denied colluding with the Turkish state but refused to condemn its invasion and occupation.
