The British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has reported that a joint US-led coalition operation and Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces have launched an operation in the oil-rich region east of Deir ez-Zor and took control of a number of villagers.
According to the report, the US-led coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) escorted coalition helicopters and drones to the Ziban refinery site east of Deir ez-Zor, detaining several youths from villages near the refineries, as well as a number of refinery workers.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claims that the arrests were made for unknown reasons and that the refinery process was halted due to the detention of workers at refineries in the area.
The organization also announced similar joint operations by the coalition and the Syrian Democratic Forces in the eastern region of Deir ez-Zor and the arrest of some other people.
The British-based organization, which covers the events in Syria, also announced the conduct of a joint exercise by US forces stationed at the Tanf base in southeastern Syria, near the Iraqi-Jordanian border, with so-called Maghawir forces.
