According to NRT Barzani, also the leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), stressed that Kurdish political parties were committed to creating real partnership with the political blocs in Baghdad.

There should be a clear “guarantee and mechanism” to implement that partnership and any other agreements, Barzani added.

McGurk visited Iraq last week to meet with Iraqi political blocs to discuss the formation of a new Iraqi cabinet, after final results of the May parliamentary election were announced by the Iraqi electoral commission.
