US envoy, Iraqi president discuss bilateral ties

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi President, Fuad Masum and the Ambassador of the United States to Iraq, Dogulas Silliman, on Sunday (August 26) with discussed bilateral relations between the two countries.

The media office of Masum said that the two sides held talks over political and security developments in Iraq and the region, NRT reported.

&ldquo;[Masum] reviewed with him [Silliman] ways to enhance relations and cooperation between the two countries and the peoples of Iraq and the US,&rdquo; it said.

The Iraqi President also reiterated his call for the formation of a legislative body in accordance with law and the constitution in the post-election period.

&ldquo;For his part, the US ambassador reiterated his country's support for the stability of Iraq and to continue to provide necessary assistance to Iraqis in all fields within the framework of the strategic agreement between the two countries.&rdquo;
