Nechirvan Barzani visits Baghdad, meets Haider al-Abadi

<p style="text-align: left;">Kurdistan Region Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani visited Baghdad on Saturday and met with his Iraqi counterpart Haider al-Abadi in the evening for talks on the formation of a new government in Baghdad.

The two premiers asserted that the next cabinet should be strong and be formed within a constitutional timeline limit, as reported by Kurdistan 24.

Barzani, is also the vice president of the ruling Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP), earlier met with the Shi'ite leader Ammar al-Hakim, head of the Hikma Party for similar discussions.

Barzani is expected to have more talks with a number of other Iraqi leaders during his visit.

His visits comes at a time that Iraqi newly-elected parliament speaker visited Kurdistan region on the same day and held talks with Kurdish officials in the region, including the KDP leader Masoud Barzani.
