Eshaq Jahangiri said during a phone conversation with the newly elected Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi that the government and people of Iran will always stand by the Iraqi people and government to overcome their challenges, IRNA reported.
He further added Iran-Iraq relations are developing and expressed the hope that the obstacles on the way of promotion of two countries relations would be removed.
The Iranian first vice president congratulated Abdul-Mahdi on his election as prime minister and called for increase in consultations between the two countries' officials and exchange of delegations between them.
