The Kurdistan Regional Government's Joint Crisis Coordination Center wrote on Twitter that "Very sadly, one of the injured person just passed away in the hospital, and the number of people raised to 43 affected civilians" in Garmiyan.
Meanwhile, no fatalities were reported but more than a hundred people were injured in Iran.
“Over 50 people from Gailan Gharb and five others from Sarpel Zahaw were injured in the quake,” governor of Kermanshah Hoshang Bazwand said.
No fatalities have been reported so far and the situation is under control, he added.
The head of the University of Kermanshah’s Medical Science Department announced that more than 50 people were admitted to hospitals in Qasr Shirin for treatment.
Additionally, the director of Red Crescent in Kermanshah province said that more than twelve search and rescue teams have been sent to affected areas, adding that they have received no reports so far about the extent of the damage.
The earthquake hit the border region between Iraq and Iran at 7:37pm EBL (4:37pm GMT) on Sunday evening, November 25.
