Iraqi PM hopes to continue Tehran-Riyadh talks in Iraq

The Prime Minister of Iraq, Mohammed Shia al-Sudani said on Wednesday, November 2, the new government seeks to achieve stability in Iraq and wants to continue work on Iran-Saudi negotiations.

According to NRT Sudani said in a press conference the new cabinet intends to lead Iraq in an important regional role and to become a point of interest.

Sudani also said he has received a signs of interest on the Iran-Saudi talks and that he will continue work on the issue.

He also said that he will start talks with the international community to carry out joint work and determine the need for the International Coalition forces to stay in Iraq.

Iraq hosted rounds of talks between Iran and Saudi Arabia beginning last year but so far, the dialogue has not shown much in the way of results.

Riyadh has sought negotiations with Iran over its war in Yemen against rebel Houthis backed by Tehran.
