US promises SDF to prevent new Turkish invasion on Syrian Kurdistan: SOHR

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) claimed that the Americans had promised the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) a chance to prevent a possible Turkish attack on Ain Issa in Syrian Kurdistan.

The United States has assured the SDF that Turkish forces will not be able to occupy a new area in Syrian Kurdistan, especially Ain Issa region in north of Raqqa, which is now the target of attacks by Turkey and groups, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights claimed that it had learned from credible sources that US forces had made such a promise to Syrian Democratic Forces officials, saying that there were red lines for Turkey on Syrian soil that it could not cross.

In recent weeks, however, Ain Issa and the surrounding villages have come under heavy artillery fire from the Turkish army, and Syrian militants have occasionally attacked SDF positions.

Observers believe that Turkey is preparing to attack on Ain Issa and capture the city and control part of the M4 international highway, but needs the green light of the United States and Russia or one of the two to carry out the air strike and carry out the plan.
