The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) announced that American forces are preparing to open their first military base in the city of Raqqa, 3 years after Turkey Peace Spring Operation and the withdrawal of American forces from this city.

According to the news published on the official website of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR), the construction of this military base is after American forces announced starting the building of a military base and airfield in the former post building of the 17th Division of the Syrian Army near the city of Raqqa.

Earlier the presence of American forces was only in the city of Tabaqa and that was only a center for the forces of the CIA organization.

According to SOHR sources, American forces are preparing to build a new military base in the center of Raqqa near the new Al-Rashid bridge, and these sources also report that American forces are patrolling in Tariq Abyaz area, 25 kilometers east of Raqqa.
