In a report, MEES weekly has mentioned the recent escalation of tensions between the two Iraqi Kurdish parties led by the Barzanis and Bagel Talibani and the negative impact of these tensions on the position of the Kurds in the central government of Iraq.
This weekly has warned that the serious differences between these two parties have gone beyond the framework of party interactions and have been reduced to personal enmity between the current leaders of these two parties.
MEES considered the political inefficiency in Baghdad to be affected by the differences between the two ruling parties in the Kurdistan Region and warned that the results of these inefficiencies and differences between the two parties have endangered the stability of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
One of the positive features of the governance in the Kurdistan region, despite the presence of two distinct territories by this Kurdish parties in the past, is the unity in Baghdad and the adoption of a unified position against the central government of Iraq. But the weekly believes there is not any unity between the two parties in Baghdad.
This weekly stated the escalation of differences between these two parties started after the death of Jalal Talabani, the late leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and the former president of Iraq in 2017, on the one hand, and the entry of these two parties into two different political fronts in Iraq in 2017.
According to this weekly, the destruction of the political alliance between these two Kurdish parties in Baghdad due to internal differences has caused political currents in Iraq to use the oil issue of the Kurdistan Region as a tool in the political chess of Iraq, including the verdict of the Iraqi Federal Court that prohibits the independent oil activity of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.
This weekly has warned that these events will have a negative impact on the government of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq and if these disputes continue, the stability of the Kurdistan Region of Iraq will be endangered.
