German Foreign Ministry underscores supporting stability in Iraq and Kurdistan Region

Following the visit of one of its senior officials to Iraq, the German Foreign Ministry emphasized the country's support for the stability of Iraq and talks with the authorities in Baghdad and Erbil in this regard.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany issued a statement announcing the trip by Tobias Lindner, the country's top adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, to Iraq and his discussion with Iraqi and Kurdistan Region officials during his three-day trip to the country.

According to the statement, Lindner will be in Iraq from January 24 to 26 and will discuss various political and security issues with officials in Baghdad and Erbil.

The German Foreign Ministry has described the formation of the new government in Iraq and its program for reforms as valuable.

Germany has emphasized that one of the main topics of discussion between Lindner and the officials in Baghdad and Erbil will be its country's support for the stability of Iraq in the future.

Discussions with central government officials and Iraqi Kurdish officials about the security situation and regional politics are among the other topics of these meetings.

Lindner also meets with senior commanders of the anti-ISIS coalition and NATO in Iraq. A visit to one of the refugee camps in the Kurdistan region is also included in Lindner's travel plan to this region.

According to this statement, Germany has invested more than 3 billion dollars to create stability and economic prosperity in Iraq.
