Iran, Syria, Turkey and Russia presidents to hold quadrilateral meeting on Syria

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said on Thursday that the foreign ministers of Iran, Syria, Turkey and Russia would hold a meeting to seek a solution for the Syrian crisis without specifying a date.

Iranian Mehr news agency said, citing Bogdanov as saying, “We all have a common goal to resolve the situation around Syria.”

Iran has also expressed its desire to join the negotiation process, according to Bogdanov.

Such meetings are supposed to lay down conditions for Syria-Turkey negotiations, which might pave the way for potential agreement, he added.
