North and East Syria political parties urge Damascus to hold serious national dialogue

The political parties of the autonomous administration of North and East Syria demanded the start of a serious and responsible national dialogue by the government of Damascus to reach a political solution in Syria.

On Wednesday, the political parties that make up the autonomous administration of North and East Syria called on the government of Damascus to start a serious and responsible national dialogue that would lead to a political solution in Syria.

According to North Press news agency, the political parties met at the headquarters of the Democratic Union Party (PYD) in Qamishlo and declared in a statement that the situation Syria is facing is very difficult and the start of a serious dialogue will lead to the progress and advancement of the inclusive national dialogue.

Sanharib Barsoom, the co-chairman of the Syriac Syrian Unity Party, told the news agency that the autonomous administration is always ready to talk with the Damascus government.

On Wednesday, the Syrian Democratic Assembly (MSD) accused Damascus of exploiting the earthquake for narrow political gains, saying the Syrian government had rejected domestic patriotic initiatives, just as it had previously rejected any dialogue.

Sanharib Barsoom added that the previous meetings did not lead to dialogue and agreement on many cases and stressed that the renewed call for dialogue may be a positive sign for dialogue and a political solution in Syria.

In the past years, several meetings have been held between the two sides, the results of which have not yet been announced, as the administration officials insist the point of contention between the two sides is the recognition of the administration and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF).

Barsoom ultimately said: "An agreement between the autonomous management and the Syrian government is possible because the issues agreed upon are related to the Syrian issue and today Damascus is not in a position to impose its conditions on a dialogue."
