According to Sharpers, Fazel Mirani, the head of the KDP political office, said: "Now the issue of minority seats has become a blind spot in the disputes between the KDP and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. I believe we and the PUK should not decide about the minorities and should stop becoming their lawyers. Be it Christian or Turkmen, and we will accept whatever decision they make.
He said in a humorous tone: "If we have interfered in the internal affairs of the PUK, they are right, but why should we interfere in their internal affairs?" It is said that the issue of Lahore is related to the KDP, why should we support Lahore against Mam Jalal's children? What advantage does Lahore have over them? The KDP high-ranking official told a media close to his party: the difference between the KDP and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan goes back to the late sixties, but after 1998, due to the conclusion of an agreement between Masoud Barzani and the late Mam Jalal, these differences gradually decreased. If Bafel Talibani and Qubad Talibani had acted according to Mam Jalal's policies, these event would have never occurred.
Mirani further emphasized: "I have always said what can be the alternative to the lack of an agreement between the KDP and the PUK, or who is the KDP's substitute for the PUK. I used to say who is the KDP substitute for PUK, but now I have changed it and say who is the KDP alternative for the patriotic union?"
The KDP politburo head further stated: "I have always said the KDP has not been looking for an alternative, but with these warnings from the PUK brothers, it seems that they are looking for another alternative for the kDP.
I believe that as a friend, if they do such a thing, they are making a mistake. Because the region has not seen a stronger alternative than the KDP. When you become a partner with someone, this partner should be with you and make the situation easier for you, not make the situation difficult, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan makes the situation more difficult for itself by choosing any other partner."
Mirani ultimately stressed: There is the power of logic and the logic of power in the world. If no one from the KDP or the PUK attends the three cabinet meetings, will this issue be considered? It is not acceptable for a minister not to attend the meeting of the cabinet of which he is a member, while enjoying its benefits.
