UN sends aid plane to Syria, pledges more 

The United Nations sent on Sunday an aid plane to Syria meant for people affected by the February 6 earthquake.

UNHCR representative in Syria Sivanka Dhanapala said the plane is carrying 40 tons of aid, including blankets and lamps that operate on solar energy.
The UN diplomat added that the UN would continue to render relief aid and support to those who stayed without homes as a result of the earthquake, North Press news agency reported.
He noted that the UN also provides psychological and social support to those affected by the tremor to help them overcome their ordeal.
