Barham Salih hails Iran’s support to Iraq

<p style="text-align: left;">Iraqi President Barham Salih, who was speaking during a ceremony on Saturday marking Iraq&rsquo;s hard-won victory over the Islamic State(IS) terrorist group, thanked Iran's support for Baghdad over the three year-long war.

Salih hailed Iran’s role as a neighboring, friendly and allied country,IRNA reported.

He also appreciated the stands of Iraqi religious leaders, the efforts by the country’s armed forces and Al-Hashd Al-Shaabi (Popular Mobilization Forces) in bringing about this victory for the Iraqi nation.

On Dec 10 last year, the then Iraqi prime minister announced the country’s victory over the IS.
