Iran plays stronger role than U.S. in Iraq: official

<p style="text-align: left;">A former Iraq deputy prime minister believes the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran is far stronger that the U.S. role in the country.

Baha al-Araji told Dicle TV that that Iran plays a big role in Iraq and that is welcomed by officials in Baghdad but the U.S. interferes in Iraq and that is something that no one in the federal government welcomes.

He further added that Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi deserves the post but the delay in the formation of his cabinet and the parliament&rsquo;s failure to confirm his introduced ministers are attempts to weaken him and his government.

Araji further claimed that Abdul Mahdi is better than all the former Iraqi PMs that have taken the post since 2003.
