Shiar Azad told Kurdpress that the IS no longer exists in the eastern part of the river and the region would be liberated very soon, adding that the power of the IS has been completely defeated and the region would be liberated.
He further went on to say that the problem is not just the defeat of the IS but what has to be defeated is the Salafism and Jihadism ideology in the region which lets the sleeping cells of the terrorist group continue to exist.
The ideology has to be defeated as the IS has ruled a large region for more than five years and has left a negative impact, he added.
Azad stated about possible threats of the jihadists that the possibility of the continuation of the ideological war among jihadist groups in Syria is not over and the sleeping cells are very likely to make bombings; therefore the self-ruling government in the north and eastern part of Syria has to make many preparations to prevent possible IS moves.
The reporter blamed Turkey as the main reason behind the quick end of Cizre Thunderstorm Operation in the east of Euphrates, adding that the operation must had been over earlier but, due to Turkey attacks, Kurdish-Arab fighters had to halt the operation and protect the northern front.
