The society’s co-leader Aysha Afandi stated that the Kurds would not wait for any one and would not forget their goals, stating that Russia opened the Syrian sky for Turkish army in Afrin and the world remain silent in wake of the terrorists attack on the region and it is not strange if the scenario is repeated again.
She told Kurdpress in an interview that possibly there is a deal between the U.S. and Turkey over the northern part of Syria but that agreement does not mean that every thing has to be into action as the Kurds have their own will and would follow their political decisions.
Kurds are not the people before the Syria civil war and have experienced changes politically, militarily and diplomatically and the entire world has accepted the reality, she said, continuing to add that the Kurds would not allow a security safe zone that is controlled by Turkey as the control means the occupation of the northern part of Syria.
Afandi, the wife of Syrian pro-Kurdish Democratic Union Party (PRD) former Co-Leader Salih Muslim, stressed that such a zone has to be supervised by the United Nations.
Answering a question about the recent visit of the Syrian Democratic Parliament co-Leader Ilham Ahmed to the U.S., Afandi stated that the visit was within the diplomatic moves over the situation in Syria and the role of the ally forces in the future of the region, reiterating that the U.S. President Donald Trump has promised cooperation with the Kurds.
She also expressed her hope that the U.S. would make a right decision over the situation in Syria.
