Politician says Erbil and Baghdad should expand ties with Iran

<p style="text-align: left;">A member of the Kurdistan Islamic Community (Komal) leading council blamed US destructive interventions in Iraq and urged deeper and more expansive political and economic ties between Iran and the governments of Erbil and Baghdad.

Shwan Rabar told Kurdpress in an interview about the US sanctions on Iran that Washington is seeking unilateral policies against Iran and is planning to make troubles for the government of Tehran, stressing that the unilateral and oppressive sanctions which are seeking economic pressures against Iran and its people will led into more hatred against the US.

The veteran politician underscored deeper and better ties between the Islamic Republic of Iran and Iraq, reiterating that the two countries are enjoying good ties and expanding the relations will bring interests for the two sides.

Calling the current situation of the relations between Iraq and Iran as a golden time, Rabar added that Iran backed all parties and political oppositions in Iraq when Saddam Hussein was ruling the country and now the parties and sides are ruling Iraq and therefore this period is a golden period for the two states.

He further mentioned to the recent visit of Iraqi President Hassan Rouhani and foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to Iraq and stressed the visits war a clear message to the world, some countries in particular, that Tehran-Baghdad ties would never go weak under plans by a third side.
