According to NRT the Council's eldest member Jamal Mawlud has invited all members to attend the meeting on Tuesday.
Mawlud replaced Rebwar Talabani as the head of the council on January 31 after he was approved by President Barham Salih, the Council of Ministers, and Speaker of Council of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbusi.
Acting Governor of Kirkuk Rakan al-Jabouri officially installed Mawlud as head of that body in February.
Talabani left Kirkuk after Iraqi forces and the Hashd al-Shaabi retook the province from Kurdish forces. Since then, he has lived in Erbil and the council has been inactive.
Ahmed said that the session would focus on development projects in Kirkuk and that the council's committees would be reactivated as well, according to NRT.
The session will be held in the Kirkuk governorate building.
