Syria and Iraq should stay against division: Bashar al-Assad

<p style="text-align: left;">Syrian President Bashar al-Assad stressed in a meeting with Iraqi national security adviser on the necessity of boosting ties between the two states and called for the two states two stand firm against foreign enemies to create chaos in the states and dividing them.

According to state-run SANA news agency, Assad met Fatah al-Fayyad, the head of Iraqi forces of Hashd al-Shaabi and Iraq national security adviser, on Sunday in Damascus where the two sides traded views on boosting ties between the two states within the interests of the two nations.

The two officials also asked for the states&rsquo; fight against terrorism to be continued to the day the sources of terrorism are destroyed.

The Syrian president also stressed that the fate of the region is only determined by its peoples no matter how great the challenges, SANA added.

Adviser al-Fayyad, for his part, affirmed that Syria&rsquo;s strength and its victory over terrorism is a victory for Iraq also and vice versa, any military achievement by the Iraqi side comes in the interest of Syria&rsquo;s stability.
