Last Monday, the Iraqi parliament set the next provincial elections across the country for April 2020.
Speaking to BasNews on Wednesday, Karim said the electoral list he is working on will include all different factions and components of Kirkuk: Kurds, Arabs, Turkmen, Assyrians and Chaldeans.
“The list will be totally independent from the Brotherhood list of Kirkuk Provincial Council,” the Kurdish politician explained.
Brotherhood List includes Kurdish factions led by the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK).
Karim, however, insists that a pure election will need the situation in Kirkuk to be normalized with prolonged issues settled first.
