Erbil’s remaining in Iraq main U.S. goal: envoy

<p style="text-align: left;">The U.S. envoy to Baghdad stated that the Iraqi central government and the Kurdish government in Erbil have reached agreement over settling their differences, reiterating that the main goal of the U.S. in Iraq is Erbil&amp;rsquo;s staying in Iraq.

Daglas Soleiman told a press conference that the two governments in Iraq have reached deals to solve their problems, NRT reported.

He went on to add that the presence of the U.S. forces in Kirkuk&rsquo;s K1 is for better cooperation between the Kurdish forces of Peshmerga and Iraqi forces, hailing the cooperation as very good.

The envoy also reiterated that Iraq&rsquo;s elections should be held as planned in 2018 and demanded for the return of Iraqi IDPs before the polls.

Soleiman also stated that a number of U.S. forces have remained in Iraq&rsquo;s northern province of Anbar as advisors, revealing that the number of U.S. forces in Iraq would decrease in the upcoming days.

He further added that the U.S. would dedicate 75 million dollars as aid to Iraq.
