Russia tells Kurds to hand over Afrin to Damascus

<p style="text-align: left;">A leader of the Syrian Kurdish Democratic Forces stated that a delegation of the forces met with some Syrian officials under the supervision of Russia in Hamim military base where the Russian officials asked the Kurds to hand over the city of Afrin to Damascus.

Ibrahim Ibrahim told London-based Al-Sharq al-Awsat daily that Russia has offered the Kurds to leave the control of the city for Syrian forces.

Ibrahim stated that the Kurds denied the offer and it was after the denial that Russia showed a green light to Turkey for its attack on Afrin.

He underscored that Turkey’s attack and attack in Syria and the violation of the country’s soil is more a Russian attack in Syria than a Turkey’s attack, blaming Moscow for the developments.
