The analyst told Asia Times website that the U.S. has increased its gap with Kurds in Syria and is boosting its ties with Turkey.
He stated that Turkey sees the U.S. as its long-term strategic ally while sees the forces of the YPG as its short-term ally, reiterating on the difference between the two issues.
According to Asia Times the U.S. still considers the IS a serious threat and is not forcing the Syrian Kurds to bow to Turkey’s demand to leave Manbij.
