According to IRNA Velayati will take part in the opening ceremony of the Iraqi Forum for Proximity of Islamic Unity and sit down for talks with the country’s top-ranking officials on bilateral ties as well as latest regional developments.

Also secretary general of the Islamic Awakening Conference, Velayati will first visit Najaft and then leave for Karbala.

Velayati’s trip to Iraq takes place at the invitation of Head of Iraqi Forum for Proximity of Islamic Unity Seyyed Ali Alaq.
