Commander refutes reports of IS presence in Kirkuk

<p style="text-align:left">A Special Operation and law enforcing unit commander in Kirkuk province denied reports that there are some elements of the Islamic State (IS) in the province.

Brigadier Saad Maan said in a statement that he assures people in the province that his forces would use all their capacities and facilities in fighting against terrorism in the province, adding that biased reports released in the social media over the presence of IS militants in the province are fake and the units are completely in control of Kirkuk.

He reiterated that the forces would annul any efforts by the IS militants and Kurdistan Region independent-seekers in Kirkuk.
