Turkey-backed  rebels at Afrin vicinity

The militants of the Free Syria Army (FSA), backed by Turkey, are only two kilometers far from the Syrian Kurdish town of Afrin and aid forces are entering the city to help the Kurdish forces of Peoples’ Protection Units (YPG) against the rebels and Turkish troops.

According to Kurdpress reporter in the city the rebels, mostly extremists, have arrived in the village of Marimi and are now two kilometers far from Afrin.

Turkey is continuing its shelling and bombardments on Afrin.

According to our reporter the situation in the city is stable but people are getting worried about the outburst of clashes between the two sides.

Meanwhile Turkey has closed Afrin Dam and civilians do not access water, an attempt that Turkey seeks to create public unrest among the people in the city.

People have told Kurdpress they would resist and protect against Turkey invasion and would not leave their hometown.

Meanwhile more than 500 Kurdish fighters have arrived in Afrin since Saturday and 1500 other forces are planned to arrive into the city.
