<p style="text-align: left;">Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) called on the government of Iraq to compensate the victims of Halabja chemical attack committed by Ba&amp;rsquo;ath regime.

Friday, March 16, marks the 30th anniversary of the chemical weapons attack on the city of Halabja in which five thousand people were killed and 10 thousands more injured. Many of the residents of Halabja became separated from their families in the chaos of the attack and never made contact again.
KRG released a statement on Friday expressing condolence to the family of those killed in the chemical attack on Halabja, NRT reported.
&ldquo;We once again call on the Iraqi government to fulfill its duty to compensate the victims and reconstruct Halabja,&rdquo; the statement read.
The Kurdish government also called on the international community to not allow such attacks to reoccur in any other places in the world.
On March 16, 1988, the Ba&rsquo;ath Regime attacked the city of Halabja using mustard gas, the nerve agents sarin, tabun, VX and possibly cyanide, which have the capability to suffocate and kill people in less than a minute.
