Turkey deployed troops to Kurdistan Region

<p style="text-align:left">Turkish army has deployed troops to the sub-district of Sidakan, northeast of the Kurdistan Region's capital as part of Ankara&amp;rsquo;s efforts to what it calls fight against Kurdistan Workers&amp;rsquo; Party (PKK) in the region.

The head of the sub-district, Ihsan Chalabi stated that Turkish forces moved to the Barazgra valley in Sidakan.

Since March 11, more Turkish troops are deployed to the bases established last year in the area and they started digging trenches, Chalabi told NRT.

The Turkish forces who are stationed in the area engage in clashes with the PKK fighters and shell some areas in the sub-district of Sidakan, he added.

Turkey launched operation "Olive Branch" on January 20 against the Syrian Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) in Afrin, supporting Syrian opposition fighters with ground troops and air strikes.
