Dana Mohammed, the head of Sulaimani Airport communications center told NRT that the flights between Doha and Sulaimani are set to take place every day.
The relaunch of fights to the Sulaimani International Airport comes after Baghdad lifted a ban on the flights from the airports in the region.
Baghdad severed Kurdistan Region’s air links to the outside world in late September after the region voted overwhelmingly for independence in a non-binding referendum, which was rejected as illegal by the central government.
The Jordan’s state carrier Royal Jordanian said on March 16 that it will resume scheduled flights to the Kurdistan Region’s international airports in Erbil and Sulaimani.
