<p style="text-align: left;">The U.S. is planning to increase the number of its forces in Kurdish-controlled regions in northern Syria, CNN quoted military sources as saying.

CNN has quoted Washington military sources as stating that despite claims by President Donal Trump over &ldquo;soon&rdquo; withdrawal from Syria, the U.S. military officials are planning to increase the number of U.S. troops in northern Syria, particularly the regions that are under the control of the Kurds.

Some sources have stated that new troops would be deployed to Syria.

Meanwhile Ankara has threatened it may target the U.S. troops in Manbij, northern Syria, as Turkish troops are preparing to launch an operation into the city.

U.S. National Security Council is to study the U.S.-Syrian Kurds joint plan to fight against the IS, as well as the deployment of 2000 U.S. troops to Syria.
