Kurdish diversities will hurt them in Iraqi election: official

<p style="text-align: left;">A leading member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) stated that different Kurdish lists and their diversities in the upcoming Iraqi election will not benefit them.

Hoshyar Zebari told the VOA that the election is of great significance for the Kurds as they can achieve their legal rights that have been confirmed in the Iraqi constitution.

Zebari went on to add that the KDP believes in the presence and participation of different parties and lists and movements in the democratic elections but the current situation stipulates the Kurds to be united and diversity will not serve them.

Zebari, former Iraq foreign and financial minister, expressed his optimism that the Kurds can form a united front for the election.
