Kurdish delegation meets US officials in Washington

<p style="text-align: left;">A high delegation from the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) is now in the US to discuss the latest political and security challenges across the Middle East, including Iraq and Kurdistan Region with the American administration officials.

According to a statement released by the KRG Office, Chief of Staff to the Kurdistan Region Presidency Fuad Hussein and Head of the Department of Foreign Relations Falah Mustafa were accompanied by the KRG Representative to the US, Bayan Sami Abdul Rahman for a two-week visit, BasNews reported.

The Kurdish officials have also met with members of the Congress, the think tank community, and diplomats in Washington DC and New York.

"The delegation also met with a number of senior State Department officials this week and the last to discuss a range of issues, including the relations between Erbil and Baghdad, the upcoming Iraqi elections, the fight against IS (Islamic State), the humanitarian crisis, support for ethnic and religious minority groups, among others," reads a statement released by the office.
