Kurdistan region's problems should be solved in Baghdad: politician

<p style="text-align: left;">Abdul Bari Majid, a well-known Kurdish politician, said on Monday that the key to the problems of the Iraqi Kurdistan region has to be sought in Baghdad.

Speaking exclusively to IRNA on the eve of the 4th Iraqi Parliamentary elections, Majid said: &ldquo;We have to go back towards Baghdad and redefine our relations with Baghdad.&rdquo;

&ldquo;Undoubtedly the fate of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region as part of Iraq is determined in Baghdad and therefore the Iraqi parliamentary election is key to crucial developments in the Region.&rdquo;

The Iraqi Kurdistan Region is not currently in good shape because of the events which occurred over the past few months and as the governing system has failed to act within the framework of the Constitution, Majid said.

The performance of the current governing system of the Iraqi Kurdistan Region is so that not only the Iraqi Kurd parties, but also Baghdad and the international community are not ready to interact with it, he added.
