According to al-Malomeh news agency, Muqtada Sadr told a joint press conference with Amar al-Hakim that Iraq is moving towards the formation of a democratic and technocrat government.
“I thank those who participated in the elections (Iraq parliamentary election on May 12) and did not vote for the corrupt and supported the reformists and religious authorities,” Sadr told the conference.
Hakim, for his side, stated in the conference and Sadr-led Coalition of Saeron and his al-Hekma Watani are attempting to form a coalition with other political parties in order to form a strong and independent government.
Hakim further added that peoples’ participation in the polls proved their interest to prevent old people into the parliament, continuing to say that we are attempting to for a non-tribal government which will try to serve Iraqi society.
