The Turkish-English company is one of the many foreign companies that is also active in the oil section of the Kurdish autonomous region in the north of Iraq.

The company announced in a statement on Tuesday August 6 that it will definitely start the building process of the gas field in the region, adding that it is considering the necessary situations and rules for making the foundations and has negotiated with officials in the region.

Genel Energy stated it expected to drill some 250,000,000 cubic feet of natural gas from the field.
