<p style="text-align:left">The two Kurdish parties of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) welcomed in a joint statement on Tuesday evening the new alliance of Iraqi cleric Muqtada al-Sadr, the winner of recent parliamentary election, and Hadi al-Ameri, head of Fatih Coalition.

According to BasNews Sadr's Sa'eroun Alliance and Fatih Coalition reached an agreement, earlier in the evening to create the largest bloc in the future Iraqi council of representatives.
"The PUK and KDP view the new alliance as a positive step, and we believe that it is a primary roadmap to address the dead end political crisis in Iraq," reads the joint statement by the parties, adding that they will send a joint delegation to Baghdad "soon".
"We hope that all sides in Iraq and Kurdistan will focus on the common interests rather than on the disputes," the statement added.
The two Kurdish parties also revealed that they have played a significant role in resolving the recent political tensions and creating the new bloc through several meetings with most Iraqi sides.
