KDP won’t accept annulling Peshmerga votes, official tells Kurdpress

<p style="text-align: left;">A leading member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) stated that the party will not accept any attempt to annul the votes of the Kurdish forces of Peshmerga in Iraqi parliament elections on May 12 when the party won the majority of votes in Kurdistan Region.

Iraqi parliament voted on Wednesday, June 6, in favor of manual recounting of fourth parliament elections in the country and annulled a part of the votes which include the votes of the Kurdish forces of Peshmerga and the security forces of the region.

Abbas Ghazali Mirkhan told Kurdpress in an interview that the parliament bill is against the Iraqi constitution and warned about the bitter and destructive outcome of the decision.

The KDP official further predicted that only 10 percent of all the votes in the election can be counted as it is impossible to recount all the votes in the poll.
