Efforts to form Islamic front in Kurdistan Region failed, spokesman tells Kurdpress

<p style="text-align: left;">The Spokesman of the Kurdistan Islamic Movement, Kamil Mahmoud, told Kurdpress in an interview that efforts to form an Islamic front in Kurdistan Region led into no avail, blaming the lack of unity among Islamic party in the autonomic region.

He told Kurdpress that announcing an alliance and forming a joint list between his party and the Kurdistan Islamic Union was an attempt to form a bigger front of Islamic parties, confirming that the efforts have not led to any avail yet due to disagreements between the parties.

The two Islamic parties announced in a statement on Monday, June 25, that they have agreed to form a joint list for participating in Kurdistan Region parliamentary elections set to be held on September 30, 2018.
