Kurdistan Region parliament amends internal regulations

<p style="text-align: left;">The Kurdistan Parliament voted to amend its internal regulations changing the parliament&amp;rsquo;s secretary to a second deputy speaker.

The Kurdistan parliament held a session on Tuesday, July 17, and lawmakers voted to amend parliament&rsquo;s internal regulations, according to lawmaker Talar Latif.

According to NRT some of the most important by-laws amended by the parliament on Tuesday are as follows:

-The Kurdistan parliament shall question a minister in absentia, until they are dismissed from their position if the minister is repeatedly invited to parliament for questioning and remains absent.

-If the budget bill arrives in the parliament during its recess, the legislation shall end its recess and lawmakers will begin a discussion of the bill.

-The parliamentary secretary position is abolished and replaced with a second deputy speaker.

The Judicial Council can also propose bills to the parliament.

-One of the positions within the Kurdistan Parliament&rsquo;s Presidency shall be reserved for a woman.

-The Kurdistan Parliament&rsquo;s Presidency now includes a speaker, deputy speaker and secretary.

-It is now possible that a faction consist of just one lawmaker.

-Any lawmaker who has violated or left its faction&rsquo;s regulations can be removed by that faction and be replaced by another person.

-The general board that included heads of factions and the Kurdistan Parliament&rsquo;s Presidency was abolished.

-Oppositions shall be defined and explained in detail.

The Kurdistan Parliament also voted on several other articles in relation to the speaker, lawmakers, and the reduction of committees, as well as articles related to the parliament&rsquo;s presidency.
