Erbil offered joint control of disputed regions: spokesman

<p style="text-align: left;">The Spokesman for the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) stated that the region has offered Baghdad and the anti-IS coalition to jointly control Iraq disputed regions that both Baghdad and Erbil claim authority over.

Safin Dizayee told a press conference that the KGR has called for a three-lateral deal between Erbil, Baghdad and the coalition in order to control the regions and fill the security vacuum in those disputed areas.

Iraqi Kurdish officials have called for the return of the Kurdish forces of Peshmerga to return to the regions to provide their security within the Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution, blaming Baghdad for the insecurity in the regions
