A delegation from the Syrian Opposition Coalition led by Nasr Hariri visited Erbil on Thursday and met with a Syrian Kurdish National Council (ENKS) delegation.
"We will meet with President Masoud Barzani tomorrow to discuss the situation in Syria and its autonomous regions," Syrian opposition leader Nasr Hariri told a news conference in Erbil on Thursday, March 4.
In response to Rudaw question over his previous remarks against Kurdish language, Hariri stated that he has made no comments against the Kurdish language and that the Kurds had the right to be educated in their mother tongue.
"I do not comment on social media like everyone else. Social media activities and comments are very important. There may also be negatives in these comments. We have a strong relationship and partnership with our Kurdish brothers. Our Kurdish brothers are a part of Syria. We lived together, worked together and donated blood. Therefore, we support all their rights, including the right to have education in their mother tongue," Hariri added.
Meanwhile, Syrian Kurdish officials close to the Syrian Democratic Army, have described the Syrian opposition coalition as being under Turkish rule and being hostile to the Kurds, and criticized Nasr Hariri's invitation to Erbil as someone who has shed " the blood of Kurdish youth."
The delegation of the Syrian Opposition Coalition was planned to meet with Masoud Barzani today.
