Bodies of Iranian Kurdish asylum-seekers laid to rest in Sardasht

The body of an Iranian family member who drowned in La Manche Channel during a migration to England was buried to rest on Saturday, November 14, in the Iranian northwestern city of Sardasht.

Rasoul Irannejad, 35, from Sardasht, West Azerbaijan, with his wife Shiva Mohammadpanahi, 35, and two children named Anita, 9 years old, Armin, 6 years old, and their 15-month-old baby named Artin drowned and lost their lives due to a storm and the overturning of a boat on their way to England via the channel.
The bodies of the victims of the tragic event, were brought back to Iran Saturday night through Tehran's Imam Khomeini International Airportafter and were buried in the afternoon at the presence of many residents of the Kurdish city.
Five members of the Sardashti family drowned and lost their lives due to a storm and the capsizing of a boat while migrating to England via English Channel.
French police found the bodies of four members of the family, and the fate of the family's 15-month-old child is unknown. French officials say he is very unlikely to have survived.
