Turkey soldier killed in Kurdistan Region: ministry

Turkey’s Ministry of Defense said on Sunday, April 25, that a Turkish soldier was killed in the Kurdistan Region by an improvised explosive device (IED).

It blamed the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) for the attack, NRT reported.
On Saturday, Turkey launched airstrikes and airborne raids against the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in Duhok governorate, in what Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan termed “Operation Claw-Lighting.”
The PKK’s armed wing, known as the People's Defense Forces (HPG), has claimed that its forces have killed eight Turkish soldiers and wounded twelve others in clashes on Matin Mountain during the new operation.
