<p style="text-align:left">Officials at the Parwezxan border crossing with Iran said on Saturday night (March 14) that the check point will be closed for 36 hours as a preventative measure against the spread of coronavirus.

The closure took effect at 8 p.m. and will last until 8 a.m. Monday so that officials can implement measures that balance the need to maintain the flow of trade with public health concerns, NRT reported.

The decision was made after discussions between border and customs officials, the Kurdistan Regional Government&rsquo;s Ministry of Finance and Economy, and the Garmian administration.
