Damascus should accept self-ruling system in north: party leader

<p style="text-align:left">The leader of Syria Kurdistan Liberal Union Party believes negotiation is the only solution to the Syrian crisis and the central government in Damascus must accept the self-management reality in the Kurdish north as a plan which has proved its feasibility in the past few years.

Referring to the current situation of the Kurds in Syria, Ferhad Telu, the head of the party, said in an interview with Kurdpress that "Syria is going through a tough phase in its history and the statements of the central government officials about northern Syria is irresponsible and is a disregard to the reality of a part of Syria."

Kurds are part of Syria's history and they cannot be ignored, the official further added.

Ferhad Telu continued as saying that the central government officials must be accountable for the present situation and refrain from making unrelated statements which would lead into new crises.

Noting that peace is the only solution to the Syrian crisis, the party leader added that the central government should accept the self-management reality as a plan which has proved its feasibility in the past few years.
