Kurdish film "Bare Giran" wins award at Ankara International Film Festival

Filmed in the Kurdish city of Mardin, Turkey Kurdistan, Bare Giran tells the story of a man named Audel who tries to run a family with his sister who has returned from Syria Kurdistan.

"This is the 22nd award that the film has ever received," Ozdil said in a statement referring to the award. &ldquo;Out of 6 festivals held in Turkey, Bare Giran has won 4 awards. With this film, it became clear that a Kurdish film could win an award both inside Turkey and internationally. To date, the film has been accepted by 87 international festivals. On May 23, 2020, it won the Best Foreign Short Film award at the Barcelona Film Festival."
